According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, osteoporosis is a disease of the bones that happens when you lose too much bone, make too little bone or both. As a result, your bones become weak (low bone density) and may break from a minor fall or, in serious cases, even from sneezing or bumping into furniture.
A diagnosis for low bone density usually happens as a result of a DEXA scan.
The National Osteoporosis Foundation is an excellent source of information and can help answer any questions you may have about Osteoporosis.
Impactactive Hip Protectors have been members of the NOF Corporate Advisory Roundtable since 2014 and are proud supporters of the work they are doing to help educate and assist those with low bone density.
